COLD WINTER'S NIGHT
WRITTEN BY GEOFF WILDE
On a cold winter's night, I first heard your voice
It was howling through the wind
We were so young, but now we're much older
But back then, we didn’t know anything
I still remember the last time I saw you
Your shadow through the smoke
The lights were alive and the city asleep
You passed me by on an empty street
Oh, sweet stranger
Will I see you again
‘Cause I’ve missed you for so long now
And I just wanna be friends
I looked for your face, in the crowd
But I didn’t know what I would say
Some things never end up goin’ right
Instead things go their own way
The waves roll in, the waves roll out
That's exactly how I feel
I lay here broken, from a recent fall
Blood on my body, and ice on my soul
Oh, sweet stranger
Will I see you again
‘Cause I’ve loved you for so long now
And I don’t wanna pretend
